Books2Door was founded in 2004 by Abdul Thadha. It has grown from a one-man-band selling secondhand and remaindered books on eBay, to an award-winning online bookseller, specialising in brand new book bundles and box sets.
Abdul was born and brought up in one of the most economically deprived areas of Leicester, UK. He's now an advocate for children's literacy and making books accessible to every household. Books2Door aims to introduce children from all backgrounds to the love of reading by selling premium books as a great value price.
Abdul is also the founder of Sweet Cherry Publishing, an award-winning children's publisher dedicated to diverse, accessible stories. He has kept both of his businesses in his home city, bringing jobs to the East Midlands and helping break the book business away from its London bubble.
Books2Door is a company with a strong social conscience. We've donated books to refugee children at Christmas, helped rebuild a bookshop in Gaza, and donated 18,000 books to charity to celebrate our eighteenth birthday. We're an enthusiastic supporter of World Book Day every year, a key date in the literary calendar supporting kids' literacy.
Our company vision is clear: Less screen time, more storytime, which goes hand in hand with our mission to make books more affordable and accessible for everyone
